عقد مجلس إدارة غرفة تجارة دمشق اجتماعاً برئاسة السيد عصام الغريواتي رئيس الغرفة، وبحضور جميع أعضاء المجلس، وذلك لمناقشة القضايا المستعجلة المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، ووضع الخطوط العريضة للسياسة العامة التي ستنتهجها الغرفة في المرحلة المقبلة.

وفي مداخلته، أكد رئيس الغرفة السيد عصام الغريواتي أن الغرفة كانت سابقاً تعاني من الظلم، مشيراً إلى أن غالبية أعضاء مجالس الإدارة المتعاقبة، الذين كانوا من التجار المعروفين أباً عن جد بسمعتهم الطيبة وإرادتهم في خدمة مجتمع الأعمال الدمشقي، قد واجهوا عراقيل ومعوقات نتيجة الفساد الذي كان مستشرياً في زمن النظام البائد.

وشدد الغريواتي على أن المجلس الحالي يفتح صفحة جديدة عنوانها الشفافية والمسؤولية، ملتزماً بالعمل تحت سقف القانون وطبيعة عمل الغرفة، لخدمة تجار دمشق بأفضل شكل ممكن، والدفاع عن مصالحهم، وتمكين دورهم في الحياة الاقتصادية.

كما أكد أن من أولويات المجلس تطوير عمل الغرفة إلكترونياً لتوفير خدمات تليق بتجار دمشق وتواكب متطلبات العصر، إضافة إلى تعزيز قنوات التواصل المباشر مع التجار، وتفعيل دور اللجان التخصصية لتكون صلة وصل حقيقية بين القطاعات المختلفة ومجلس الإدارة.

وقدم أمين سر الغرفة السيد عمار البردان مداخلة أوضح فيها طبيعة عمل المجلس وآليات اتخاذ القرار، إضافة إلى دور اللجان المنبثقة عنه، وذلك استناداً إلى القوانين والأنظمة الناظمة لعمل الغرف التجارية.

وقد أبدى أعضاء مجلس الإدارة تأييدهم لما طرحه رئيس الغرفة، ووجهوا التقدير والاحترام لكل من ساهم في خدمة الغرفة من التجار السابقين، مؤكدين عزمهم على المضي قدماً في بناء غرفة قوية، حديثة، شفافة، تمثل صوت التجار، وتعمل بفاعلية من أجل تحسين بيئة الأعمال وتعزيز مكانة دمشق كمركز تجاري واقتصادي وطني.

The Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce held a meeting chaired by Mr. Issam Al-Grewati, the Chamber’s President, and attended by all board members. The meeting focused on discussing urgent matters on the agenda and outlining the general policy framework that the Chamber will adopt in the upcoming period.

In his remarks, Mr. Al-Grewati stated that the Chamber had previously suffered from injustice, noting that many former board members—well-known and reputable merchants with a long family legacy of serving the Damascus business community—had faced obstacles and challenges due to widespread corruption during the previous regime.

He emphasized that the current board is opening a new chapter defined by transparency and responsibility, committed to operating within the framework of the law and the Chamber’s mandate, with the aim of best serving the merchants of Damascus, defending their interests, and empowering their role in the economic landscape.

Among the board’s top priorities, Mr. Al-Grewati highlighted the development of the Chamber’s digital services to better serve Damascus merchants and meet modern demands. He also stressed the importance of strengthening direct communication channels with traders and activating the role of specialized committees as a genuine link between different sectors and the board.

The Chamber’s Secretary, Mr. Ammar Al-Bardan, gave an overview of the board’s work mechanisms and decision-making processes, along with the role of its subcommittees, in accordance with the regulations governing the operation of commercial chambers.

Board members expressed their full support for the President’s vision, extending respect and appreciation to all former merchants who had contributed to the Chamber’s service. They affirmed their determination to move forward in building a strong, modern, and transparent Chamber that represents the true voice of merchants and works effectively to improve the business environment and enhance Damascus’s position as a national commercial and economic hub.
