استقبل رئيس غرفة تجارة دمشق، السيد عصام الغريواتي، سعادة عبد الله لوتاه، نائب وزير شؤون مجلس الوزراء للتبادل المعرفي والتنافسية في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وذلك في زيارة أخوية تعكس عمق العلاقات التاريخية بين البلدين الشقيقين، وحرص الجانبين على تعزيز التعاون المعرفي والتجاري في المرحلة المقبلة.
وجرى خلال اللقاء نقاش مثمر حول الواقع الاقتصادي الراهن في سوريا، والرؤية المستقبلية للنهوض بالقطاع التجاري والاستثماري، حيث أكد الجانبان أهمية دور القطاع الخاص في دعم مسيرة التعافي والإعمار، وفتح آفاق جديدة للتعاون مع الدول العربية والصديقة.
وبحضور مدير عام غرفة تجارة دمشق، الدكتور عامر خربوطلي، رافق رئيس الغرفة الوفد الإماراتي في جولة على أقسام الغرفة، قدّم خلالها المدير العام للغرفة شرحاً مفصلاً عن تاريخ الغرفة العريق، الموثق بالوثائق والأسماء البارزة التي أسهمت في تأسيس الحركة التجارية السورية منذ أكثر من قرن.
وأبدى سعادة عبد الله لوتاه إعجابه بتاريخ الغرفة، وأشاد بطابع التعايش والانفتاح الذي ميّز مجلس إدارتها منذ تأسيسها، حين ضمّ تجاراً من مختلف الطوائف.
من جانبه، أكد السيد الغريواتي أن المجلس الجديد يواصل هذا النهج الوطني، ويضم ضمن أعضائه إخوة من الطائفة المسيحية، في دلالة على تنوع المجتمع السوري ووحدته.
وخلال اللقاء، دعا السيد لوتاه رئيس الغرفة إلى تكثيف الجهود لاستقطاب رجال الأعمال والمستثمرين من مختلف دول العالم إلى سوريا، وهو ما رحب به السيد الغريواتي، مؤكداً أن الغرفة تسعى بالفعل إلى تفعيل التعاون الدولي وتوفير بيئة استثمارية جاذبة.
كما أبدى سعادة السيد عبد الله لوتاه حرصه على تعزيز التعاون المؤسسي بين غرفة تجارة دمشق ونظيرتها في دبي، ووعد بتأمين لقاء مرتقب يجمع بين مجلسي إدارتهما في مدينة دبي خلال الفترة القريبة القادمة، بهدف فتح قنوات مباشرة للتعاون التجاري، وتقديم الدعم اللازم لرجال الأعمال السوريين، في إطار الشراكة والتكامل الاقتصادي بين سوريا والإمارات.
وفي ختام الزيارة، قدّم السيد رئيس الغرفة لسعادة عبد الله لوتاه نسخة من كتاب "غرفة تجارة دمشق، توثيق لتاريخ حافل منذ العام 1830"، مرفقة بكلمة ترحيبية أخوية، عبّر فيها الغريواتي عن تقديره لهذه الزيارة المهمة التي تعزز روابط المحبة والتعاون بين الشعبين الشقيقين.
وبدوره، دوّن سعادة السيد لوتاه كلمة في سجل ضيوف الشرف بالغرفة، عبّر فيها عن شكره وامتنانه لحفاوة الاستقبال، متمنياً النجاح والتوفيق لمجلس الإدارة الجديد في مسيرته القادمة

The President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Issam Al-Grewati, welcomed H.E. Abdullah Lootah, UAE Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, during a fraternal visit that reflects the deep historical ties between the two brotherly countries and the mutual commitment to strengthening knowledge and trade cooperation in the coming phase

The meeting featured a productive discussion on the current economic situation in Syria and a forward-looking vision for revitalizing the commercial and investment sectors. Both sides emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in supporting Syria’s recovery and reconstruction and in opening new horizons for cooperation with Arab and friendly nations

Accompanied by the Director General of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Amer Kharboutli, Mr. Al-Grewati led the Emirati delegation on a tour of the Chamber’s departments. During the tour, Dr. Kharboutli gave a detailed presentation on the Chamber’s rich history, documented through records and notable figures who helped establish Syria’s commercial movement over a century ago

H.E. Abdullah Lootah expressed admiration for the Chamber’s legacy and praised the spirit of coexistence and openness that has characterized its Board of Directors since its inception—highlighting that it included merchants from diverse religious communities

Mr. Al-Grewati affirmed that the current board continues this national approach, proudly including Christian members, reflecting the unity and diversity of Syrian society

During the meeting, Mr. Lootah encouraged Mr. Al-Grewati to intensify efforts to attract businesspeople and investors from around the world to Syria. Mr. Al-Grewati welcomed the initiative, confirming that the Chamber is actively working to enhance international cooperation and foster an attractive investment environment

H.E. Mr. Lootah also expressed his commitment to strengthening institutional ties between the Damascus Chamber of Commerce and its counterpart in Dubai. He pledged to facilitate an upcoming meeting between the two boards in Dubai, aiming to open direct channels for trade cooperation and provide support to Syrian entrepreneurs within the framework of economic partnership and integration between Syria and the UAE

At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Al-Grewati presented H.E. Abdullah Lootah with a copy of the book “Damascus Chamber of Commerce: A Rich History Since 1830,” accompanied by a warm, fraternal message expressing appreciation for this important visit, which further strengthens the bonds of affection and cooperation between the two nations

H.E. Mr. Lootah, in turn, wrote a message in the Chamber’s guestbook, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome and wishing the new Board of Directors success in its future endeavors
